APPLICATION
High voltage power cables suitable for the primary distribution of power up to a maximum network voltage of 110kV. Suitable for locations where mechanical protection is afforded by other means. Cables are triple extruded on modern catenary line equipment to the latest IEC standards. Waterblocking tape ensure that should the cable be damaged, repair lengths and associated works are kept to a minimum. The cables are provided as standard with a high density polyethylene sheath, combining abrasion resistance and flexibility. The range can be customised to meet specific project demands where required.
Our standard high voltage cables, to International Standard IEC 60840, which include 2XS(F)2Y, 2XS(FL)2Y, A2XS(F)2Y and A2XS(FL)2Y, are designed for the primary distribution of power on networks with a voltage rating from 45kV to 132kV.
Subject to the design parameters and installation environment, the metallic screen size and material types can be adapted to best suit the installation bonding arrangements. Additional constructional layers including armour (wires or corrugated tapes) can also be applied.
Our HV cables are suitable for installations providing mechanical protection to the cable. Waterblocking tape options help prevent water ingress and ensure that should the HV cable be damaged, the repair lengths and associated works are kept to a minimum. A high density polyethylene (HDPE) is used as standard and offers a compromise between abrasion resistance and flexibility, however various other options, including MDPE and LSZH materials are available on request.
