AAC (All Aluminum Conductor) is a bare overhead cable made of pure aluminum (1350 alloy) without insulation.
Overhead Power Transmission & Distribution
Utility Lines: Used in low-to-medium voltage overhead distribution (up to 33kV).
Rural Electrification: Cost-effective for long-span installations (e.g., poles in remote areas).
Service Drops: Connects utility poles to buildings (limited to dry environments).
Lightweight: ~50% lighter than copper, reducing tower load.
Corrosion-Resistant: Natural oxide layer protects against weathering.
Low Cost: Cheaper than ACSR or copper conductors.
